UPDATING FIRMWARE ON A MAC
Our Setup Utility functions properly for all setup features on a mac. However, the MAC setup utility does not allow for the updating of firmware at this time.
You have 2 options.
- The best option is to locate a PC and install the firmware using out setup utility.
- If you do not have access to a PC please do the following:
Download the live cd file from: http://updates.nautiluslifeline.com/lifeline-livecd.iso
- Insert a blank disc.
- Start “Disk Utility”.
- From the File menu, choose “Open Disk Image” and select the ISO to be burned.
- In the list of volumes, you will now see an item representing the ISO file. Select it.
- Click the Burn button and follow the prompts and instructions given by the program
- Once the CD is burned:
- Make sure the CD is in the CD/DVD drive and restart the computer.
- Hold the "c" key immediately after the computer restarts to boot from the disc.
- If you see a screen where “ccccccccc” is being printed across the screen, release the “c” key and press the “Enter” key to start booting from the cd.
- Access the Software through Applications > Other > Lifeline Setup.
- Plug the Lifeline into the computers usb port and it should connect automatically.
- NOTE: If computer is running on wireless internet, Software Update check will fail, as will registration by internet.
